Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production and a strong understanding of meat cutting techniques. As a Meat Cutter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and presentation of our meat products. This position requires attention to detail, proficiency with knives, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specifications.
- Ensure all meat products are properly packaged and labeled.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat preparation area.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and sanitation practices at all times.
- Mechanical aptitude for running a packaging machine.
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team.
- A good attitude towards continuous improvements of food safety systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent attendance.
- The desire and ability to follow general food safety practices (GMPs, HACCP, and SQF system)
- Able to learn meat cutting knife skills as well as tenderizers, grinders, and other meat processing equipment (previous experience a plus!)
- Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measurements.
- Must be able to identify different meat cuts or be able to learn.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in food production or as a butcher is preferred.
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cutting techniques.
- Knowledge of food preparation standards and safety regulations is essential.
