Director of Special Education & Student Services
The Director of Special Education & Student Services creates a cohesive, consistent, & efficient educational environment for employees, students, & families; is an educational leader in the District focusing on special education programs & student services; supervises, coordinates, &collaborates with PK-12 Special Education staff to provide services for students with disabilities; recruits, selects, & supervises personnel for special education at the PK-12 levels; monitors IEP compliance throughout the District; serves as the district's 504 coordinator; collaborates with the Medicaid coordinator; & coordinates district-wide MTSS services.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of federal & state special education laws, rules, & regulations.
- Understanding of education law & special education law as it relates to job duties.
- MA/MS required; Ed.S., Ed.D., or Ph.D. preferred.
- Must hold current Iowa Professional Administrator license or possess the qualifications for an Iowa license.
- Must hold current evaluator approval endorsement or possess the qualifications for an Iowa evaluator license.
- PK-12 Special Education Supervisor endorsement preferred.
- Successful experience in special education teaching & as a building-level administrator.
- Computer competency required.
- Salary Range: $113,963.10 - $142,314.89
