Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Assessor to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of patients to determine their mental health and behavioral needs. This role involves working closely with individuals experiencing various challenges, including chronic pain, addiction, and other psychological conditions. The Clinical Assessor will utilize evidence-based practices to provide recommendations for treatment plans and interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in inpatient settings, focusing on their mental health and behavioral issues.
  • Utilize various assessment tools and methodologies to evaluate patients' needs effectively.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Provide counseling services, including chronic pain counseling and addiction counseling, to support patients in their recovery journey.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collect and analyze data related to patient outcomes and treatment efficacy for ongoing research initiatives.
  • Stay updated on ICD-10 coding practices relevant to mental health & substance use diagnoses.
  • Engage in behavioral therapy sessions as needed, ensuring a supportive environment for patients.
  • Work with pediatric populations when necessary, adapting assessment techniques to meet the unique needs of children.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of inpatient care practices and protocols.
  • Proficiency in chronic pain counseling techniques and strategies.
  • Experience in behavioral therapy approaches and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with research principles related to mental health assessments and interventions.
  • Excellent data collection skills for effective analysis of patient information.
  • Understanding of ICD-10 coding systems as they pertain to mental health diagnoses.
  • Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients, demonstrating patience and understanding.
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles relevant to patient care.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Compassionate approach towards addiction counseling, fostering a nonjudgmental atmosphere for clients.
  • · Ability to attend required/necessary training, receive feedback for work that has been submitted.
  • Possess computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel for Windows.
  • Ability to apply the concepts of customer service in the workplace. Ability to use good professional judgment. Detail oriented. Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines. Ability to meet short and long-term goals and project deadlines.
  • Respect for the confidentiality of all communications required within job duties, including client/employee records and documents, and electronic transmission by voice, data, and wire.
  • Experience with multi-cultural/multi-lingual populations and multi-disciplinary teams.

Education Requirements:

Bachelors Degree Required with a QMHP license, but a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or psychology; License or licensed associate is preferred (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, CP, LMHP-R).

Minimum one (2 ) plus years of conducting intake assessments in a mental health, substance abuse or social services environment.

Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse a crisis if necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $38.20 - $46.01 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
