What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Legal Assistant position at Mason County, Michigan?
The Mason County Prosecutor's Office is seeking a temporary full-time legal assistant for the summer of 2025 to cover for an employee who is going on leave. Duties include reception, management of daily incoming and outgoing time sensitive documents, preparing court files, data entry, assisting attorneys with calendars and court notices, purchasing and ordering supplies, accounts payable, preparation of pleadings and correspondence, use of computerized case management systems, requesting documents from police departments and other agencies, and victim advocacy. Work takes place in a fast-paced legal environment in a team atmosphere. Certified legal assistants preferred, however, will consider comparable work experience. This is a minimum 40-hour-a-week position and attendance is required in person.
