What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tree Trimmerman position at Mason County Public Utility District 3?
Mason PUD 3 is seeking an individual to fill the position of Journeyman Tree Trimmerman. Successful candidates must be willing to live within 30 minutes travel time under normal conditions of their regularly assigned headquarters or live within the district’s service territory.

- Trim trees and perform ground slashing by using chain saw, trim saw and other tools required to accomplish the necessary trimming operations.
- Observe tree trimmer foreman when he/she is performing trimming duties to ensure safety in all situations.
- Haul brush and other debris as necessary to the trimming and clean-up of the trim area.
- Insert limbs and other slash material into chipper and operate the chipper as necessary.
- Sharpen and perform required maintenance to saws when requested by foreman.
- Drive trucks to and from job sites as necessary.
- Perform flagging duties when required.
- Must be qualified as a journeyman tree trimmerman through I.B.E.W.
- Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of tree trimming near overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission lines.
- A working knowledge of the PUD's construction and maintenance standard practices.
- Knowledgeable of all safety rules and a valid first aid certificate in accordance with the safety standards of the State of Washington.
- Ability to use the tools and equipment of the trade.
- Have a valid Washington state class "A" commercial driver's license in accordance with RCW Title 46 and have a good driving record.
- A record of punctuality and regular attendance.
- Ability interact in a courteous and respectful manner with the general public and fellow employees.
- Accessible for emergency call-out as required. An operating telephone at place of residence is necessary.
- Must be constantly aware of surroundings to make reasonable judgments regarding safety related situations and efficiency of operation.
