COMPENSATION: The hourly rate is a maximum range of $50.00 to $54.00. This will annualize to an estimated range of $100,000 to $108,000 based on 40 hour work weeks and 50 of 52 working weeks per year. OT is payable at 1.5X base rate and will add to the overall compensation based on actual hours worked.
JOB DESCRIPTION/EXPERIENCE: Associate Scientist I/II
We are seeking a motivated Associate Scientist I/II Contractor to join our Cell & Genetic Medicines Team within the Therapeutics Discovery (TD) division at our Spring House, PA site. This role will focus on CAR screening to support the development of CAR T cell therapies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the field of CAR T cell therapy and work alongside a team of passionate scientists advancing cutting-edge treatments targeting hematological and solid tumors.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the culture and expansion of primary T cells, as well as the generation of CAR T cells via viral transduction techniques
• Support the development and optimization of high- and medium-throughput CAR T cell manufacturing workflows
• Perform flow cytometry-based experiments for cellular characterization and analysis
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot basic automation systems utilized in cell therapy processing
• Identify and resolve technical challenges encountered during laboratory procedures to ensure smooth workflow
• Analyze experimental data using software tools such as GraphPad PRISM, FlowJo, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Maintain precise and comprehensive experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) to ensure reproducibility and compliance
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to refine protocols, enhance process efficiency, and achieve project milestones
• Strictly adhere to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and laboratory guidelines while performing experiments
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2–3 years of laboratory experience (industry experience is preferred), OR Relevant Masters with 1 year industry experience
• Hands-on experience with pipetting (single, multi-channel (required) and electronic (preferred) pipettes), aseptic cell culture, cell banking is required with a strong preference for experience working with primary immune cells
• Experience with multicolor (6 ) Flow Cytometry is preferred
• Experience working in BSL2 and BSL2 labs; familiarity with viral transduction techniques is required.
• Exposure to automation technologies used in laboratory workflows is preferred.
• Basic proficiency with data analysis tools and software, such as GraphPad PRISM, FlowJo, and Microsoft Office is preferred
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to maintain clear and accurate records is required
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to succeed in a collaborative team setting
• Motivated, and able to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously
