Job Summary :
The Clinical and Non-Clinical Instructor provides learning opportunities and instruction to Mason Health staff members in various involving various functions and certifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Coordinates and provides required training for the staff. Coordinates and instructs the American Heart Association (AHA) approved Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support (ACLS, PALS, BLS) curriculum per the AHA guidelines (certification is based on instructor status). Maintains AHA Instructor status per AHA requirements.
Performs within the scope of demonstrated competence, clinical experience, and education.
Collaboratively provides training as part of a team of instructors.
Completes and updates competency specific trainings to further develop relevant knowledge and skills related to AHA guideline updates and required education for other learning opportunities. Engages in professional development activities furthering job related skills.
Participates in all classroom practices - room arrangement, lesson plans, schedules / agenda, routines, and transitions to assure their adherence to program policies.
Ensures all educational opportunities at Mason Health align with evidence-based strategies and practices in adult learning.
Performs and rates student practical skills evaluations. Administers and grades written examinations.
Makes and / or implements applicable suggestions on how to improve the course. Promotes service excellence attitudes and behaviors towards all customers and service alliances.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years of applicable experience in a health care setting is required.
Required Licenses, Certifications and / or Registrations :
Current AHA Provider and / or Instructor status in BLS, ACLS, and / or PALS.
Current clinical licenses, if applicable, for advanced resuscitation (Registered Nurse or Paramedic).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
