Job Summary :
Coordinates the nutrition services provided to individual patients (both inpatient and outpatient) and their families / caregivers as needed. Coordinates the employee wellness program.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities :
Assesses nutritional status, recommends appropriate nutritional care, teaches nutrition as indicated for inpatients and outpatients.
Practices evidence-based, best practice, patient-centered nutrition care that is safe, effective, efficient, timely, and reflects the Quality Plan.
Assures that inpatient food service is nutritionally appropriate.
Functions as an essential part of the patient care team.
Manages the employee wellness program, including employee nutrition education.
Teaches nutrition presentations throughout the hospital district as time allows.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience :
Active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Clinical dietetics experience preferred.
Required Licenses, Certifications and / or Registrations :
Registered Dietitian required or eligible for registry.
Dietitian Certification, Washington State Department of Health.
Current Washington Food Handlers Permit.
Certified Diabetes Educator, American Association of Diabetes Educators, preferred.
