What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Assurance Specialist position at Mason Manufacturing?
As a Quality Control Assurance Specialist, you will be essential in ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards. Reporting to the Quality Manager, your core responsibilities will include conducting quality audits, inspections, and managing quality systems to uphold manufacturing excellence.
General Responsibilities
· Complete floor checks for required per Section VIII, Div. 1(UG-90) including layout, fit up, plate layout, and weld inspections.
· Oversee the drop materials located in the South Inventory Lot
· Work closely with the Quality Control Manager to ensure all check points are being met during fabrication.
· Oversee and work closely with the Receiving Specialist to ensure receipt of all materials and required support documentation.
· Utilize time management skills to service both departments.
Specific Responsibilities
· Complete quality checks to the ASME Code standards including but not limited to: nozzle fit up, flange fit up, shell layouts, roll bay layout, cut parts
· Ensure travelers and hold points are being completed timely
· Witness hydro tests to ensure ASME Compliance
· Works with Plant Manager, Quality Control Manager and Purchasing Manager to solve any discrepancies on received materials
· Ensure all MTR’s are placed into file with calculations, prints, and traveler for AI preconstruction review
· Scan in all job packages for record retention requirements per ASME Section VIII, Div. 1
· Stamping of name plates
· Performing in-house NDE (PT, UT, Vac-box, and Soap testing)
· Participate in on the floor training with QCM
· Manage shifting between departments and responsibilities as needed
· Assist Receiving Specialist with any concerns with receiving and reporting incoming materials
· Set and accomplish goals in furthering knowledge about ASME Code and Fabrication
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Knowledge of ASME Section II
· Analytical approach to problem solving
· Forklift operating experience
· Physically able to move and store materials per OSHA guidelines
· Time management skills
· Knowledgeable in ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1
· Knowledgeable with material specifications numbers for various materials
· Commitment to process improvement
· Willingness to adjust working hours to service shipping schedules and deliveries
· Proficient with Microsoft Suite
· Basic math skills and organization skills
· Effective interpersonal and communication skills
· Team oriented personality

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
