We are currently hiring for a Part Time Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistants
Part time biweekly schedule: Total of 35 hours per pay period
Week 1: Sunday, Monday, and Thursday from 9 am - 4:30 pm (total 21 hrs/week 1)
Week: Monday and Saturday from 9 am - 4:30 pm (total 14 hrs/week 2)
What is the Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant job all about?
As the Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant you will assist in the planning and implementation of daily programs, activities, holiday parties and special events. Because our Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant so much quality time with the residents, our Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant are also an important 'extra set of eyes' to observe and report any changes you suspect in a residents' physical or mental status. Our Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant are also 'cheerleaders,' enthusiastically encouraging the residents to participate in yoga, morning exercise, happy hours, birthday parties, walks around the grounds, trips to museums, ball games, lunch, etc. Our Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant must have solid organizational skills and be responsible with money, as you are often responsible for petty cash and activity supply purchases, ensuring that we have all of the materials needed to implement the programs and activities, as planned.
What do we require to be a Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant?
- Per the recommendation of Massachusetts elder affair, you must be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19 and flu.
- This position will be required to work holidays as assigned.
- The Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant must have 2-3 years’ experience working with the elderly and Alzheimer’s populations
- Must have 2-3 years in planning and facilitating group activities and programs.
- The Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant must be creative, responsible, organized, and dependable, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior citizens and their families.
- Computer skills required.
- The Activities Assistant/Life Enrichment Assistant must be flexible, a good team player, and able to work some evenings and weekend hours.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
- Must be able to express self clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Must be 21 years of age in order to drive passenger van.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a history of responsible, accident-free driving.
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Students pursuing a Master's degree program in art, music or recreational therapy are strongly urged to apply as valuable experience is gained through this opportunity.
- Must pass CORI and drug test.
