JOB SUMMARY:
Daily cleaning of floors in corridors and other assigned areas. Project cleaning of walls, lights, induction units, windows, etc. All work to be done in accordance with the Masonic Care Community’s objectives. Will use cleaning equipment including rotos, automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, products and supplies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs the following cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods:
a. Dry mop and wet mop floors.
b. Scrub and buff floors with roto and/or automatic machine.
c. Vacuum carpets for cleaning and bacteria control.
d. Trash, recycling, med. waste and linen transport from utility rooms
and other collection points to designated areas. Trash to be compacted,
recycled or placed in containers.
e. Move furniture and set up meeting rooms.
f. Wash ceilings, walls, lights, windows inside and out and vents.
Assists in cleaning emergency spills that are observed or requested.
Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and have repairs made when needed.
Cleans common areas.
Cleans office areas.
Cleans furniture.
Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.
Empties wastebaskets.
Cleans isolation rooms according to procedure.
Replenishes supplies as needed.
Cleans and polishes bathrooms and fixtures.
Cleans and sterilizes garbage cans as needed.
Cleans elevators and stairwells.
Sweeps and cleans outside steps and stairs.
Unloads incoming supplies and places in storeroom.
Attends in-service programs.
Changes light bulbs daily as requested.
Performs other related duties of department as requested by supervisor.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
One year housekeeping experience in institutional setting desired.
Working knowledge of small housekeeping machinery.
The base salary range for this position is $15.60 - $16.10 per hour commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education & prior accomplishments.
The position may be eligible for additional compensation not listed here, including but not limited to shift differentials, incentives or bonuses, as applicable.
