What You'll Do:
As a Personal Care Dining Room Supervisor, you will carry out our Mission of Love by the care of our residents is provided in a safe, caring, timely, and appropriate manner by maintaining the appropriate competencies and skills through continuing education that encompasses all of these areas. This will include assisting our residents in reaching or attaining the highest potential in their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Terrace View dining room in Personal Care. Assist in coordinating special functions. Responsible for providing work schedules and assignments to a group of non-exempt employees or a small group of professionals. Employees supervised will have similar occupational skills as the supervisor. May conduct performance reviews and process payroll. Recommends, and may conduct disciplinary action and is involved in resolution.
Our Personal Care Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for the following:
- Knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations that pertain to food and nutritional care in a long-term care setting, and the Pennsylvania Liquor Law pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages. Knowledge of local, state and federal sanitation regulation and HACCP guidelines and the ability to implement effective food safety programs, includes both sanitation and HACCP, in accordance with regulatory guidelines for Personal Care.
- Knowledge of style of dining services and quality of food preparation appropriate for services to personal care area and function.
- Develop written objectives and short- and long-term goals for the dining room to provide high quality service for the residents.
- Maintain prompt and courteous service, making adjustments following complaints.
- Maintain record of meals served to residents and visitors and record of cash operation.
- Coordinate the menu with central kitchen commissary chef and nutrition services manager. Responsible for developing menu format, printing, distribution, and marketing of menu's, chef's specials, and special events.
- Orient new employees and instructs and trains existing employees regarding procedures for operations. Arrange work schedules and assign duties. Evaluate employee work performance and recommend personnel actions such as commendations or disciplinary action to the Assistant Director of Dining Services-HCC.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll.
- Attend in-service and other meetings as required by the Masonic Village and Food Services Department and participate on committees as directed. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, outside conferences, etc.
- Assist Develop annual operating and capital budget for dining areas for review and approval by the Assistant Director of Dining Services-HCC. Proficiency in managing proper inventory and ordering of non-food supplies used in the Food Services Department.
- Maintain Food Services' systems such as resident comment database, restaurant point of sale system and food services inventory system as related to processes at Masonic Village Elizabethtown.
What You Have:
- An associate's degree in hotel/hospitality management or equivalent, minimum of five years of supervisor experience in hospitality industry or completion of an approved training program to attain proficiency in developing and maintaining high quality of dining services with three years supervisory experience in managing an upscale dining environment preferred.
- Good written and oral communication and proficiency with computer applications required.
- CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) Certificate required or obtained within the first nine (9) months of employment.
- CPR certification required (prior to or upon employment).
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
