Masonic Village at Elizabethtown is hiring a Groundskeeper. This is a Seasonal/Temporary position working Monday - Friday from 6:30am to 2:30pm for 21 weeks.

What You'll Do:

As a Groundskeeper, you will carry out our Mission of Love by assisting the Landscape Gardeners with implementing work schedules and assignments. Any tasks that are required to maintain the landscape may be asked of the groundskeeper under the direction of the Landscape Gardener. Our Groundskeeper is responsible for the following:

• Assists the Landscape Gardeners in planning, coordinating, and performing any landscape management practices necessary to maintain the campus such as the care of lawns and gardens using a variety of hand tools, including rakes, saws, shovels, trimmers and pruning saws.
• Understands basic horticultural practices and general best management practices.
• Keeps plants and flowers healthy by pruning, trimming, weeding, mulching, and aerating.
• Maintains lawns with the use of mowers, string trimmers and edger's to keep it at an optimal height.
• Plants new grass, flowers and shrubs following planned designs as prescribed by the Landscape Supervisor.
• Waters lawns and plants when needed to maintain the health of the lawns and plants.
• Performs all aspects of snow operations on campus by plowing, equipment operations, salting and shoveling during winter weather conditions including off hours call-in.
• Maintains work areas and vehicles in an orderly and clean manner, maintaining a safe workplace.
• Performs all tasks and operates all equipment in a safe manner as outlined in operating manuals.
• Ensures the proper care and use of tools, equipment and supplies and uses proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Completes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) generated work orders and provides clear documentation of work as required.
• Generates work orders for additional work or tasks identified in the field and completes or submits them as appropriate and maintains an accurate record of time for cost distribution and payroll.

What You Have:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Ability to acquire Pennsylvania commercial applicators license.
• Good written, oral organizational and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently.
