Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Sewickley Campus - is immediately hiring for a Fitness Instructor - Lifeguard. This is a Part Time opportunity working 1 Saturday per month from 8 am to 11:30 am. May include additional Saturdays at times.

As a Fitness Instructor - Lifeguard, you will carry out our Mission of Love by assisting fitness coordinators in implementing a comprehensive fitness program designed to promote health and wellness for our members.
Our Fitness Instructor - Lifeguard is responsible for the following:
- Implement fitness programming as directed by the Wellness Coordinator or Wellness Manager.
- Actively participate in staff meetings.
- Responsible for opening and closing the facility. Recommend closing for inclement weather and notifies Wellness Manager.
- Demonstrates the knowledge of the operation of all exercise equipment. Responsible for reporting damage to the facility or equipment to the Wellness Coordinator or Wellness Manager in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all emergency facility procedures.
- Maintains a reliable presence in the Fitness/Wellness Center so as to be available to members for assistance. Checks membership cards of persons using the pool and controls admission to the pool. Communicates concerns and needs to Wellness Program Manager.
- Assists with the development and design of flyers and announcements. Distributes Health/Wellness information to residents and employees. Assists with updating bulletin boards on current health and wellness information for our members.
- Assists in maintaining a clean, attractive and safe facility. Checks documentation of infection control of the exercise equipment.
- Provide clerical support such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, filing, copying, calling the floors for resident transport, etc. Enter and update documentation from the Wellness Coordinator or Wellness Manager into the computer, from member applications, training cards, fitness assessments, HRA's, etc.
- Strives to keep current with information on fitness, wellness, diseases and conditions such as diabetes, stroke, cardiac, dementia, etc.
- Maintains order in the pool area, and maintains daily log of activities and number of persons using the pool. Monitors pool chemistry and notify the Wellness Manager when unsatisfactory.
- Rescues persons who get into trouble in the water. Administers appropriate life saving techniques when needed. Administers first aid when appropriate. Seeks emergency and other help when needed.
What You Have:
- High School Education or equivalent with experience with fitness and exercise programs preferred.
- One-year experience with seniors is desirable.
- Maintains certifications in CPR and First Aid.
- Strives to acquire and maintain certifications from ACSM, NESTA, and NSCA.
- Lifeguard Certification required.
- Good written, oral, organizational, and basic computer skills.
- Certified Pool Operator certification is desirable.
