Position Title: Director of Life Enrichment

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Life Enrichment

Supervisor Title: Assistant Executive Director / Administrator- Keystone Center

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

Plans, and directs activities that enhances the resident's quality of life and enhances their source of well-being through therapeutic programs that provide physical, social, educational, creative, cultural, religious and fraternal activities based on residents' interest and needs. Programming shall also provide pleasure, comfort, success and independence and help to enhance each resident's self-esteem and dignity.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the direction, provision, implementation and quality resident engagement opportunities. Promotes and educates department team on a "person center care/activities" philosophy.

Oversee resident desires, goals and objectives, plan of care, therapeutic treatments and necessary documentation.

Responsible for budget planning and departmental expenditures.

Coordinates, integrates, and communicates the resident activities services with other Department teams as necessary in the community to provide a continuum of care for the resident.

Provides, as requested, monthly schedules, periodic reports showing progress, Quality Assurance/Process Improvement plans, analysis of resident engagement opportunities and projected plans to support resident engagement desires.

Communicates with residents and their POA's as necessary about resident engagement.

Ensures team members and residents have appropriate supplies, equipment in working order as necessary to promote an engaged lifestyle of those served.

Ensures Resident Councils are supported as needed.

Ensures that department payroll is completed and processed timely.

Ensures appropriate team member support of resident engagement opportunities - including scheduling of activity team members.

Maintains petty cash distribution.

Ensures appropriate scheduling of rooms and events (i.e. Fellowship Center, Grow Memorial Hall and Chapel).

Communicates Activity Department vehicle repairs with maintenance and coordinates vehicles to be serviced.

Maintains a current resource file.

Completes paperwork for liquor license for events as needed.

  • Prepares articles for Masonic Village newsletters as requested (Family Matters, In the Loop)
  • Maintains CDL and operates Masonic Village vehicles as required.

Holds membership and participates in local, state and national Activities organizations within one year of employment.

III. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

IV. KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

At least three years’ experience in geriatrics, recreation or social administration.

Computer skills necessary as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

V. LICENSES/ CERTIFICATIONS

Degree in recreational therapy and/or Activity Director Certification.

Maintains certification by NCCAP or NCTRC.

Must have valid driver’s license.
