Mass Alternative Care is a local, family-owned Medical and Recreational Marijuana Company based in Western Massachusetts that specializes in providing quality products to patients and consumers. Our well-fed, premium flower is cultivated in small batches at our Chicopee facility where it is carefully selected and hand-trimmed for packaged flower and prerolls, or extracted into concentrate. MAC products are available at our Chicopee and Amherst retail locations as well as select dispensaries across the state of Massachusetts. In addition to MAC products, we carry a wide variety of carefully chosen wholesale products and accessories at both retail locations to give consumers the option and convenience of a full cannabis experience.

All job functions are successfully completed with accuracy and a sense of urgency. (IE: Till is always accurate, zero cash/debit mistakes, accurate inventory counts, zero loss of inventory). Position Summary:

Dispensary associates provide exceptional customer service to medical patients and recreational customers while gauging their individual needs. A dispensary associate demonstrates their knowledge by guiding guests through the menu efficiently, giving accurate descriptions of the product we carry and what their effects may be. Dispensary associates follow MAC’s policies and procedures, aiding in the dispensary running smoothly. A successful dispensary associate stays update-to-date on industry trends, educates and listens to customers/patients, achieves company sales goals, and provides guests with a positive, educational, and comfortable experience.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Process cash and debit transactions via Point-of-Sale System
  • Maintain a high level of product and brand knowledge to be clearly communicated to consumers
  • Recommend, select, and help locate the proper products for medical and recreational guests depending on their individual needs
  • Communicate the effects of different types of cannabis/cannabis products to customers clearly and effectively
  • Stay up to date with product knowledge, company information, new launches, campaigns and promotions
  • Participate in continuous training on product knowledge and patient services
  • Communicate with sensitivity and respect for patients, guests, staff, and visitors at all times
  • Address patient and guest issues; consult with or elevate to management when appropriate
  • Perform opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure the accuracy of assigned cash register till
  • Ensure departmental and dispensary compliance to internal policies and state and local laws, rules, and regulations
  • Prevent the diversion of medical cannabis to anyone other than authorized patients or registered caregivers
  • Communicate regularly with the Dispensary Manager to satisfy department needs and patient feedback
  • Frequently maintain the dispensary's cleanliness, i.e., dusting, glass cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping and sanitization
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dispensary Manager

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21
  • High Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in sales
  • Ability to drive positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver in measurable results
  • Must be adaptable with availability and comfortable with continuously evolving tasks
  • Comfortable working variable shifts, including evenings and weekends and holidays
  • Carry an upbeat attitude and be friendly, dedicated, and self-driven
  • Basic cannabis knowledge with drive to learn more
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to pass a background check
