The Massachusetts General Hospital – Brigham & Women’s Hospital Department of Medicine seeks an academic and clinical leader and Endocrine physician to serve as Chief of the MGH-BWH Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of endocrinology as the Division becomes integrated across two of the nation’s leading medical institutions.
The Chief will work closely with faculty and leadership in the Department of Medicine at MGH-BWH to advance the Division’s mission in clinical care, education, research, and community health. The ideal candidate will have a distinguished record of research and academic achievement as well as demonstrated excellence in leadership, administration, and management. They will bring a collaborative, forward-thinking approach with a special emphasis on transparent, effective communication, deep listening, and the ability to unite and inspire teams around a shared vision. A commitment to multidisciplinary care models, advancing high-quality care for all patients, and fostering clinical and scientific collaboration is essential.
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at MGH-BWH is the academic home for nearly 150 faculty members, many of whom lead extramurally funded basic, translational, and clinical research programs. The Division supports robust training programs for medical students, internal medicine residents, and 21 endocrinology fellows, the latter supported by several NIH training grants. The clinical activities of the Division span multiple outpatient practices and inpatient consultative programs throughout the Mass General Brigham health system. The Chief will play a key role in strengthening these programs and expanding collaborative efforts across Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School.
The candidate must meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates will have an MD or an MD-PhD, and Board Certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism.
