Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to patient evaluation and development of care plan, including selecting tools, tests, and measures appropriate to patient age and diagnosis, establishing and prioritizing functional, measurable goals, and administering therapeutic agents and exercise programs according to clinical procedures.
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to the documentation of clinical care, including maintaining medical records, obtaining and reviewing insurance authorizations, documenting patient outcomes, and recording accurate patient charges.
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to the communication of clinical and operational information, including participating in daily inpatient discharge planning rounds, providing patient status reports, communicating with other providers, and providing verbal and written information to patients and families.
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to receiving and providing education, including identifying educational needs, attending out-of-hospital rehabilitation programs, facilitating staff education, and maintaining continuing education records.
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to the supervision of support staff, including assigning patients to physical therapist assistants, re-evaluating patient progress, and directing and supervising aides and secretarial staff.
