The Online Perquisite Program is currently seeking a Course Developer within the Biology Unit. Our Online Prerequisite Program runs courses that are online and asynchronous. Ideal start for a new biology offering is in the Fall 2025 semester.

The ideal candidate should be well-versed in standard curriculum for college-level Biology courses with interest and abilities in developing 2 distinct offerings. The candidate should be dedicated to student engagement and a high-touch experience for students through remote learning.
Our program focuses on preparing students for healthcare professions. Healthcare experience and/or the ability to relate concepts to the health professions is highly desirable.

Responsibilities For Course Development Include
- Work with program director, team lead, and instructional design team
- Development of course syllabi including course description, objectives, policies, grading practices, and content planner.
- Identification of course textbook and/or learning resources.
- Development of course materials including instructional items, assignments, and assessments.
- Regular communication with students through LMS discussion boards, email, and live video sessions
- Grading/feedback of student assignments
- Regular updates to course material, with a focus on foundational and clinically applicable aspects of Biology
- Collaboration with institute resources (Instructional Design Services and Office for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) to ensure online content maximizes learner engagement and reflects the values of IHP
- Degree in Biology or related field, teaching experience (2-3 years),
- Experience teaching online, background in LMS learning systems (preferably D2L),
- Communication skills
