Job Summary
The Histotechnician is responsible for performing various technical and related duties in the histology section of the laboratory.This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
This position reports to the Section Supervisor, Histology and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree and HT (ASCP) or equivalent registration or registry eligibility required; relevant education transcripts required. For those candidates grandfathered by the ASCP, high school diploma or equivalent required
- If the employee does not meet registration requirements within 1 year of employment, the position will be forfeited
- Demonstrated competency in all special stain and immunohistochemical techniques, including preparation of various reagents and stains utilized required One (1) to three (3) years of experience preferred
