Job Summary

The Opportunity: Patient Care Assistant-Surgical Trauma- White 7

White 7 is a twenty-seven-bed adult inpatient unit. Patients on this unit are general surgical (mostly major abdominal procedures) and multi- trauma patients. It is a fast paced, exciting environment where the interventions are groundbreaking, and the patients come from all over the globe for the specialty care our nursing and physician staff provide.

Qualifications

Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, detailed patient care environment. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, supervising & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and acquiring EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, supervising patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

SCHEDULE

  • 40-hour| full-time
  • Day (7am-3pm / 7am-7pm)| Evening (3pm-11pm) | Night (7pm-7am, 11pm-7a)
  • Mandatory rotational holiday and weekend schedule

Requirements

  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care. Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, medical Assistant, Mental health Technician, or EMT accredited Program, At the time of hire, or - candidate enrolled in a Nursing, pre-Med, PA Undergraduate Program, with At least One semester of patient care rotations completed, At time of hire.
