Job Summary
The Opportunity: Unit Coordinator – Thoracic/Vascular Surgery| Ellison 19
Ellison 19 is a thirty-bed unit devoted to the care of patients recovering from Thoracic/Vascular Surgery. The patient population on this unit requires complex nursing care.
Qualifications
As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families, and medical staff. You will transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that all their medical treatments and procedures are carried out. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.

Schedule
- (3) 8-hour shifts OR (2) 12-hour shifts
- Nights| 7pm-7:30am or 11pm-7:30am
- 24 hours per week
- alternating holiday and weekend schedule
- Shift differential for evening, nights, and weekends

- Effective coordinators who can arrange for patient services between multiple departments
- Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
- Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Preferred: Associate degree; 1-year clinical experience
- Required: High School diploma or GED required; Must have at least 1 year of customer service experience; Computer skills necessary (word, excel, and ability to learn MGH systems)
