What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Laboratory Technician position at Mass General Research Institute?
*We have an exciting lab technician position available to help translate biomarkers and precision oncology concepts from the lab into patients.
*We offer a position in a topical, and fast-moving field of translational cancer research. The objective of our studies is to advance precision medicine concepts in the treatment of cancer patients with radiation therapy. Part of the project involves robotic high-throughput screening of novel anti-cancer drug/radiation combinations. The candidate will learn mammalian tissue culture techniques including 3D tumor models, examine orthogonal endpoints for assessing tumor cell death, apply suitable cellular and molecular biology techniques, and correlate readouts with genomic tumor profiles. A particular focus will be on assays that characterize alterations in cancer lipid metabolism. There will be opportunity to engage in collaborative mouse experiments and profiling of human tumor samples. Collectively, these studies will identify predictive biomarkers and mechanisms of sensitivity of tumors/resistance to radiation with and without molecular targeted agents.

*The position is intended for entry-level lab research technicians (but suitable for applicants with more experience as well)
*Prior exposure to wet lab research or/and oncology is desirable.
* The position is ideal for a recent college graduate with 0-1 years of experience (eg, May 2024 or May 2025 graduation)
We are looking forward to hearing from you,
