The Executive Office of Veterans Services (EOVS) is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts primary support and advocate for Veterans and their families. The mission of EOVS is to advocate on behalf of all the Commonwealth’s veterans.
The Deputy Chief Engagement Officer reports to the Assistant Secretary for Engagement & Outreach, who serves as the primary liaison for EOVS with non-profit providers, Veteran Service Officers, veteran community groups, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, business and philanthropic efforts, and other public / private organizations and collaboratives.
This role supports ongoing collaboration and communication between EOVS, Veteran Service Officers, non-profit organizations, and veteran services entities.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Represent EOVS at external events, functions, conferences, and both public and private meetings.
- Perform outreach and networking tasks with new and existing partners and programs.
- Manage and support event planning operations in relation to Engagement & Outreach.
- Constituent case intake from external partners, collaboration with Executive Office staff to identify possible remedies, and communication with the case subject and / or requesting organization.
- Establish internal metrics and processes to monitor, evaluate, and strengthen partnerships with public and private partners in service of EOVS’s mission and vision.
- Make policy recommendations based on stakeholder engagement.
- Engage in special projects.
- All other duties as assigned.

About the Executive Office of Veterans Services :
On March 1, 2023, Governor Maura T. Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kimberley Driscoll established the Executive Office of Veterans Services. The office oversees programs and services for Massachusetts veterans, including Chapter 115 benefits for eligible veterans. It also manages the state’s two Veterans Homes in Holyoke and Chelsea and the Memorial Cemeteries in Agawam and Winchendon.
Minimum Entrance Requirements :
Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration, or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
