Deputy Director of Communications (Contracted/Temporary)

We strive to reflect diversity in all facets and levels of our agency.About the Role : The Deputy Director of Communications of the Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) works closely with the Director of Communications to assist with the coordination of communications, social media, and press outreach across the secretariat, the planning and execution of public events involving EOED and the Governor’s Office, and the preparation of briefing documents for the Secretary or Governor’s Office as needed.Duties and Responsibilities : (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive)Respond to and initiate EOED media inquiries, ensuring a consistent Administration message and coordinated response.Prepare drafts of remarks, speeches, talking points and press releases, as requested by the Undersecretary as well as the Secretary, Governor’s Office or Lieutenant Governor’s Office when directed by those offices.Coordinate all activities with the Secretary’s, Governor’s or Lt. Governor’s communications staff on matters related to EOED.Manage EOED events that include the Undersecretary, EOED Secretary, Governor, and / or Lt. Governor.
