Technical / Circulation Assistant, Jacob Edwards Library (Southbridge)
The Town of Southbridge Jacob Edwards Library introduces a great opportunity for a Full-time, Benefit Eligible, Circulation Assistant position.
The Circulation Assistant position works with the circulation team to handle the constant flow of items circulating through the library. It entails a wide variety of customer service based tasks including but not limited to registering patrons for library cards, assisting patrons with material requests, providing guidance on the use of electronic catalogs and other electronic resources. Additionally, this position is responsible for collecting fees / fines, and cash handling and recording. The position available is Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, with benefits included. Schedule includes evening and Saturday shifts.
Our Ideal Candidate
Experience with cash handling, invoicing, bookkeeping, and AP software such as MUNIS.
Excellent attention to detail as it is critical for this position.
Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of library work and the ability to use and instruct the public in the use of databases and library technology.
Interpersonal and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Excellent customer service and organization skills, written and verbal communication skills, and computer skills.
Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Position will be open until filled.

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
Two or more years of library / accounting experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
