What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Litigation Lawyer position at Massachusetts Buiness Litigation Law Firm?
Experienced business litigation lawyer to lead a team of 2 or 3 attorneys in a small but growing business litigation and transactional law firm.
In addition to assigning legal tasks, and supervising associate attorneys, you will represent clients in legal proceedings, appear in court, draft legal memoranda, participate in strategy discussions and advise clients.
Responsibilities:
- Appear in court and present oral arguments
- Depending on experience, serve as first or second chair in trial
- Prepare and draft legal memoranda
- Review and respond to discovery requests
- Draft and serve discovery requests on opposing parties
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations
- Supervise associate attorneys
- Delegate and assign legal tasks to associate attorneys
- Review associate attorneys' work product
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts
- Previous experience in business litigation (7 years preferred)
- Familiarity with business litigation disputes (e.g. breach of contract, breaches of fiduciary duty in closely held entities, defending against G.L. c.93A claims)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present clear, concise and convincing oral arguments
- Demonstrated leadership experience
Salary : $175,000 - $250,000
