Substitute teachers (Subs) for Saturday Studios are on-call instructors that can teach Saturday Studios courses on short notice if a student teacher is unavailable. Subs are expected to follow the lesson plan created by the Saturday Studios student teacher.
General Duties:
- Check in with Gabo Camnitzer and the Saturday Studios Program Manager upon your arrival
- Prepare to teach your Saturday Studios lesson by:
- Reviewing the lesson plan created by the Saturday Studios student teacher
- Collecting and organizing the supplies necessary for your lesson from Saturday Studios Manager's office
- Reviewing the student vitals for information related to student learning strategies and accommodations
- Checking in with your teaching assistant
- Attend the pre-program group meeting
- Ensure attendance is taken within the first 15 minutes of class
- Execute the lesson plan created by the Saturday Studios student teacher
- Tidy your studio classroom at the end of your lesson, and return supplies to the Saturday Studio Manager's office
- Complete necessary paperwork with Human Resources, including an updated CORI

- Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
