MARMOSET TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, FENG LAB, McGovern Institute for Brain Research , to work in the laboratory of Professor Guoping Feng who is leading a collaborative effort to use marmosets as model animals for the study and treatment of complex brain disorders such as autism and schizophrenia. The Technical Associate will primarily be responsible for handling and care for animals, performing behavioral tests and researching manipulations such as intramuscular and intravenous injections, blood draws, sonographic imaging; supporting all phases of assisted reproductive procedures, including preparing tools and animals, monitoring anesthesia and providing post-operational care; assisting the daily care of animals and provide supplemental treatments to animals; participating in health checks and facility rounds; coordinating schedules between researchers and veterinarian team; assisting the external and internal collaboration, including meeting scheduling, preparation, and clean up.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED : Bachelor’s degree in animal science, biology, neuroscience, or a related field; a minimum of two years of relevant experience; lab research experience with animal models; excellent organizational and communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; and punctuality. PREFERRED : Experience working with nonhuman primates and/or large animals in a research setting. Job #24848
