PROGRAM SCIENTIST 1, Biological Engineering - The MIT Center for Gynepathology Research (CGR) , under the direction of Drs. Linda Griffith and Michal Tal, in a new program in Engineering Women’s Health involving over a dozen MIT faculty and their collaborators around the world will assist in the development, implementation, and broad dissemination of new immunological assays that capture features of human pathophysiology; and facilitate the day-to-day collaboration of the immunological and computational tool development teams with the engineering and clinical teams to define design criteria for “Novel Alternative Methods (NAMs)” for generating humanized experimental data, and translating extant mouse data to the human condition.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED : PhD in immunology or related discipline with a minimum of two years of post-PhD experience managing interdisciplinary research collaborations with a preference for collaborations spanning academia and industry; demonstrated ability to analyze literature and information; solid critical thinking skills and an ability to think strategically about research directions; demonstrated ability to work independently and show initiative toward identifying and solving technical challenges; excellent communication skills and attention to detail and the ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment; and a peer-reviewed publication record supporting experience conducting independent research in the research areas in this new program, including sex differences in the immune responses to infection, clinical inflammatory diseases, or infection-associated chronic illnesses. PREFERRED : Interest in or experience with gynecological, gastrointestinal, or endocrine research; and demonstrated proficiency with grant writing and effective time management with a solid ability to project helping to manage preparation and submission of large grant proposals.
