SENIOR FINANCIAL OFFICER , Chemistry , to be responsible for managing financial and grants activities for the Chemistry department; understanding the strategic and operational objectives of the Chemistry department and serving as a subject matter expert in financial and grants matters for administrative and faculty leadership. Responsible for the direct supervision, mentoring and training of financial and grants personnel; conducting performance evaluations and promoting professional development for financial and grants personnel; and acting as a counsel to all staff and faculty on financial matters.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED : Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a minimum of seven years of experience in financial and grants management; initiative; ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work under pressure, and meet deadlines; attention to detail; solid interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to solve accounting problems using sound accounting and financial management principles; advanced computer skills, including knowledge of and experience with centralized, interactive personnel, general ledger, and purchasing computer systems; and ability to work both independently and as a member of a centralized finance team. PREFERRED : Master's degree; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, SAP, Cognos, Kuali COEUS, Quickbase; and experience at MIT and with its financial and accounting systems. Job #24654-10
