Posting DescriptionVICE PRESIDENT FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY / CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER (CIO),Office of the Executive Vice President and Treasurer, to lead the strategic direction and management of MIT’s enterprise digital infrastructure; facilitate information technology across the Institute, supporting systems, infrastructure, and platforms; collaborate with internal and external partners, including the Office of Research Computing (ORCD), the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC), and MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory; champion cybersecurity, integrate modern administrative systems, and drive digital transformation; oversee customer-focused IT services and manage resources sustainably; co-chair the Information Technology Governance Committee and serve on the MGHPCC Board; and report to the Executive Vice President and Treasurer (EVPT) and serve on the President’s Academic Council.Job RequirementsREQUIRED : Master’s degree or equivalent years of experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or related experience; minimum of ten years of relevant leadership experience managing multiple cross-functional teams with progressive IT experience in a collaborative, decentralized, and service-oriented IT organization, and a minimum of five years leading decision making in a large scale, cloud-based computing environment; comprehensive technical knowledge and skills managing a large organization with complex budget and operations. Experience in Software as a Service (SAAS), data management, storage and access, cloud computing services, API-development, and integration service capabilities; demonstrated experience delivering systems and services with security, resilience and business continuity; imaginative IT leader with substantial IT leadership experience in a complex academic, research, or public sector environment; comprehensive technical knowledge and skills; deep knowledge of organizational development, digital transformation, project and program management, and fiscal management and planning; relevant leadership experience managing multiple cross-functional teams in a collaborative, decentralized, and service-oriented IT organization; strong consultation and collaboration skills.
