Department Overview
The Emergency Management Department at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy offers a comprehensive program in emergency management and homeland security. The department seeks a highly qualified individual to join its faculty as a tenure-track professor.
Job Responsibilities
- Teach college-level courses within the Emergency Management Department
- Develop curriculum and improve existing courses
- Participate in various academic committees in support of the Department and Academy
- Serve as an academic advisor to assigned student advisees
- Contribute to the development of Experiential Learning Programs
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Emergency Management or related field by Fall 2025
- Ability to teach in one or more areas: Terrorism and Homeland Security, Exercise Design and Development, Emergency Planning, Transportation Security, Emergency Management, Communications, GIS, and/or Emergency Management related Information Technology courses
- Demonstrated potential to fulfill evaluation criteria for teaching and advising at the college level
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and computer skills
