Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert legal advice on labor and employment matters* Represent the Authority in litigation, administrative proceedings, and arbitrations* Conduct research and analyze complex legal issues* Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with labor laws* Develop and implement policies and procedures related to labor and employment* Stay up-to-date with changes in labor and employment law* Participate in collective bargaining and negotiation of contracts* Analyze and draft legislation* Conduct legal research as required* Perform related duties as required* Supervise a legal assistant and/or support staff
Requirements
* J.D. from an accredited law school* Admittance in good standing to the bar to practice law in Massachusetts state and federal courts* A minimum of three (3) to six (6) years as an attorney in the field of labor and employment law, preferably in the public sector* Strong analytical, research, and writing skills* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks* Experience in providing advice and counsel to clients in labor and employment law* Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and experience in negotiating contracts* Familiarity with Massachusetts labor laws and regulations
