Massage Envy Beachwood is looking for a proven leader motivated to support and develop a team of talented therapists.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1-year experience as a massage therapist
- Proven history of managing people.
- Experience with human resource practices including training, coaching & development plans a plus.
- Flexible schedule to work when the team needs the support.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
- Perform Licensed Massage Therapist job duties.
- Work with the Owner and Management staff to make sure that location therapy staff complete their MEU annual and ad-hoc training, annual or ad-hoc practicals; all prior to deadlines. This also includes making sure that staff are aware of their license renewal. Dates for staff will be provided in Slack therapy channels.
- Models exceptional customers service skills for the entire clinic staff to emulate.
- Sets the tone for the therapeutic staff and is responsible for maintaining a positive work environment by fielding therapist’s complaints and facilitating solution oriented discussions.
- Must be able to handle difficult situations when they arise.
- May assist with conducting periodic evaluation reviews.
- Always reinforces and reminds of Massage Envy policy (with added emphasis placed on the Code of Conduct - General Standards of Conduct, Code of Conduct - Zero-Tolerance Offenses, and Code of Conduct – Training and Awareness policies) with the therapeutic staff.
- Coordinate and/or facilitate therapist workshops.
- Mentors therapeutic staff in respectful and honest manner effectively communicating and helping to create habits of success for every therapist.
- May conduct interviews, write incident reports and/or consulting in the termination of therapists in coordination with the Owner and the Clinic Business Manager
- Provides coaching to therapists through In Moment surveys.
- Bridges communication between the bodywork professionals and the front staff.
- Provide new therapist orientation which will include:
- New Therapist Orientation
- Tour of facility
- Charting (where they go, SOAP Notes, using abbreviations, etc)
- Setting up a room (Cleanliness, laundry rotation, table/room presentation, bolsters)
- Laundry (location of clean/used sheets, bagging sheets, washer/dryer, hot towels)
- Chores (demonstration of what to do and when)
- Meevo (schedule: colors & clues, notes, clocking, etc)
- Client Interactions
- How to welcome guests / how to finish a session
- Questions and words to use
- Role play a session
- Training and using the frequency recommendation pad
- New Therapist Training
- MEU Training
- Draping (demonstrate, observe, approve)
- Enhancements (demonstrate, observe, approve)
- Practicals
- Compliance (SOP, BCD, Zero Tolerance, implied vs informed, etc)
- May attend chapter meetings of massage associations, schools and/or recruiting events.
- Create contests with clinic management to make work fun and encourage participation.
- Completes special projects as assigned by the Clinic Management.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Owner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must adhere to local and state licensing laws and regulations.
- Must pass Universal background check.
- Must understand and believe in the healing benefits of massage therapy and bodywork.
- Certified and proficient or willing to be trained in all Massage Envy approved modalities (Total Body Stretch, Prenatal Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Rapid Tension Relief, etc)
- Suggested college degree or management experience equivalent.
- Superior communication skills and the ability to work well and respectfully with therapists, management, and the front desk staff.
- May need to successfully complete a management training program.
- Recommended prior experience; minimum of 6 months as a Massage Envy therapist.
- Ability to have flexible schedule to accommodate business needs.
SCHEDULING
This is a full time position (at least 30 scheduled hours, with an expected 20-25 hours of table time a week and 1-15 hours of administrative time a week).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time while training employees, ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English. Must be able to see well and able to read fine print. Must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 10 pounds – maintaining files and documentation.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work in a subdued-lit, temperature controlled work area. Must be able to see and work with a computer screen for extended periods of time (approximately 3 – 4 hours) and work in open area with other employees.

Supervise therapists through the duties and responsibilities assigned.
