What are the responsibilities and job description for the TEMPORARY Recreation Specialist position at Massapequa Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing?
Massapequa Center Rehabilitation & Nursing is committed to improving our patients' quality of life & autonomy through innovative rehabilitative services, and an exceptional level of client-centered care and attention. We are seeking a caring and dedicated Temporary Recreation Specialist to join our skilled nursing facility in Amityville for at least three months.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create and implement recreational activities and programs.
- Ensure all documentation of resident care plans, recreation participation and progress is documented in accordance with NYS guidelines
- Transportation of residents to and from activities
- Conduct recreational programs on assigned units and throughout the facility as designated
Qualifications:
- Experience in long-term/short term recreation programming, preferred
- Knowledge of MDS/Care Planning CMS/New York State regulations, including survey compliance, preferred
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- A strong empathy with and commitment to helping the senior population
- Experience and comfortability working with dementia patients
- Ability to work efficiently across various departments
- High-level of creativity, artistic ability and communication skills
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and variable shifts as needed
Monday to Friday. 9am to 5pm.
