Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Wholesale Lending, the Home Ownership Loan Processor is responsible for the processing of loans for MassHousing’s Home Ownership Programs. Primary duties of the position include application intake, screening, review and initial eligibility determination, submission to underwriter, and assisting with clear to close.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor loan pipeline to ensure timely loan processing and all deadlines are met
- Review new loan applications for completeness and eligibility according to program guidelines to include, but not limited to, income/ratio calculations, credit reports and appraisals, calculations, and verifications of allowable maximum loan amounts, etc.
- Ensure documentation requirements are met including income, employment, asset and liability verification and validation, etc.
- Submit complete loan file package to Underwriter for approval decision
- Coordinate closing dates and maintain closing calendar
- Communicate with mortgage brokers regarding loan status, outstanding items and assist in addressing questions
- Monitor and ensure rate lock and closing purchase deadlines are met
- Prepare reports and reconciliations as needed
- Perform administrative duties such as monitoring departmental electronic mailboxes and receiving phone calls regarding loan programs
- Perform other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Working knowledge of GSE and FHA loan eligibility
- Working knowledge of compliance and disclosure requirements (TRID)
- Working knowledge of Fair Housing Regulations
- Demonstrate excellent organization skills and ability to pay strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Possess high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Minimum Education and Training
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related major or equivalent years of experience required.
- 2-4 years of recent mortgage experience in mortgage loan processing.
Salary Range: $80,493.30 - $104,641.29
MassHousing has a hybrid work policy. Employees will be required to report to the office at One Beacon on a schedule to be determined with their supervisor depending on the needs of the position. However, during the first 90 days, the employee may be expected in the office more frequently for training and onboarding.
