The Opportunity

As a Data Quality Assurance intern, you will help ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data within the Enterprise Data Warehouse environment utilized by our business partners. You will work closely with data analysts and developers to validate data sets, evaluate related ETL processes, and ensure adherence to data governance standards. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment through a mentor/mentee program that promotes growth, learning and collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

• Create and maintain data validation rules and test cases within Data Warehouse and Data Marts in multiple tiers
• Validate data as it flows from source to target systems, ensuring it meets business requirements by following thorough Data Quality Assurance practices
• Work with data QA analysts and developers to verify and validate data transformations
• Develop a strong understanding of data models, ETL processes, and business procedures
• Prepare and present detailed reports on data validations and testing, including any discrepancies and potential impacts
• Contribute to continuous improvement in data quality through participation in a weekly validation and testing meetings
• Establish mutually cooperative relationships with customers, team members, and others within the Annuity IT organization
• Collaborate with team members and mentor(s) to find creative technology-based solutions to challenges
• Learn and maintain working business knowledge to align with evolving data needs of the organization
• Performs other duties as assigned
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Previous RDBMS and SQL knowledge/experience is preferred but not required, however, learning SQL query language fundamentals will be required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Detailed-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
• Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn new tools and techniques
• Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal English communication skills
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative Agile work environment
