The Opportunity
Our internal Compensation team is seeking a detail oriented self-motivator for our Business Operations Consultant position. In this role, you will act as an extension of the leadership team and represent the team as the point person for all projects and system enhancements which impact Compensation. You will have an opportunity to influence design, perform testing, and implement change. In addition, you will collaborate with the leadership team to help identify and support the needs of the team including assisting with QA, identifying and delivering training needs, and handling escalations to name a few. You will also demonstrate strong relationship management skills with advisors and agency leadership as well as internal and external business partners to ensure two-way feedback, ease of doing business and communication and will also have the ability to work closely with a number of teams throughout .

The MMLIS Compensation team is a hybrid group made up of operational staff handling the day to day commission processing as well as a customer service group responding to incoming emails from both the field as well as internal business partners. Our mission is to ensure timely and accurate payout of compensation to our advisors. The uniqueness of the MMLIS Compensation team is that most initiatives across the B/D impact compensation which creates lots of projects and opportunities for change management. It also requires our team to be agile and resilient and to maintain a high business acumen within the B/D.

The Impact
- Represent the Compensation Team on any new projects/initiatives that impact compensation and assist with the development of business requirements
- Create and deliver testing and readiness functions including procedures and training
- Support defects, reporting, and year end functions as needed
- Demonstrated ability to display courage and challenge the status quo to help maintain operational effectiveness
- Effectively communicate with carriers, reps, and internal business partners professionally and effectively.
- Understands comp processing and can assist with research and escalations
- Demonstrate agility and flexibility to triage and navigate multiple projects and priorities.
- Ensure regulatory requirements are being met not only from a FINRA/SEC perspective but also from a Finance perspective
- 3 years of working experience in either operations, project specialist or similar financial supporting role
- 2 years of advanced Microsoft Excel experience including VLOOKUP & Pivot Tables
- Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA
- 2 years of leadership and/or training experience
- 3 years of advanced Excel experience
- Detail oriented individual capable of self-managing and multitasking in a faced paced environment
- High-level thinker and problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to proactively analyze problems, develop creative solutions, and execute delivery
- Experience working with Alterix
- Strong understanding of BD/RIA operational platforms and workflows
- Demonstrated decisive decision making
