Position: Academic Coordinator (previously RtII Coordinator)

Reports to: Local Admin, CEO, Network Team

Qualifications:

  • Valid PA Teaching Certification in area of Focus
  • A minimum of 3 years of MaST experience and/or 5 years other teaching experience
  • Knowledge of benchmarking and data collection tools such as Study Island, ESGI, STAR, State Assessments
  • Knowledge of curriculum content for each grade level and best practices in the instructional design and delivery process
  • Ability to train and oversee the RtII Support staff
  • Experience with analyzing and utilizing data to form small groups based on academic needs.
  • Knowledge of GSuite Applications: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.
  • Demonstrate an ability to facilitate communication among coworkers, students, and parents.
  • Must be able to evaluate problems, prioritize work and determine solutions.
  • Must possess and maintain valid Pennsylvania school clearances.

 

Job Overview:  

Works with the Local Leadership, RTII team, and teachers to analyze data and identify areas of weakness, and coordinate plans to strengthen academic performance.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinates benchmark testing administration, including training teachers on standardized testing procedures, scheduling universal screenings, and managing data entry. 
  • Provide consultation and coaching services for teachers to identify and improve their areas of instructional and content weaknesses.
  • Manages and oversees the RtII Support team.
  • Provide training, feedback, and coaching for the RtII Support team.
  • Notifies parents of intervention services and provides quarterly progress monitoring reports.
  • Coordinates the service delivery of interventions to identified students. 
  • Supervises and coaches the teacher’s development of individual progress monitoring goals for intervention.
  • Ensures fidelity in intervention programs such as Wilson Reading System, Fundations, and other research-based interventions to students identified for intervention.
  • Communicate with parents, classroom teachers, special education teachers, and other school personnel on a regular basis throughout the school year.
  • Update the local leadership on academic progress based on student assessment data.
  • Prepare and present local academic data during data meetings to stakeholders. (PD days, Network and Local Data meetings, Board Meetings, etc.) 
  • Act as a resource person in providing the school assistance with screening incoming students.
  • Attend and participate in MTSS, Grade Lead, and Grade Group meetings.
  • Assists in preparation of summer programs.
  • Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

Professional Obligations:

  1. Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
  2. Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in developing, evaluating, and revising school programs.
  3. Prepare reports on students and activities as required by the administration.
  4. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
  5. Attend staff meetings, and have the opportunity to serve on committees.
  6. Sponsor extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests.
  7. Adhere to Professional Standard of Conduct, including confidentiality, code of ethics, and appropriate internet use, as outlined in the Policy and Procedures manual and Staff Handbook.
  8. Follow all approved board of trustee policies, including Financial and Purchasing, Attendance, RtII, and Curriculum Implementation.
  9. Perform administrative duties such as assisting the school media center, hall, cafeteria monitoring, and bus loading and unloading.
  10. Complete school-mandated technology PD hours.
  11. Perform all additional related duties and responsibilities as designated by the Local Administration, CEO, or Network Team.

 

Terms of Employment:  Ten (10) months. Contract terms and salary to be determined by the Board of Trustees.

Evaluation:  The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of state law, administrative code, and the Board’s policy on the evaluation for this position.
