Responsibilities :
As a Laborer / Groundman , you are responsible for providing general labor for aerial and underground construction projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And youre up for the challenge.
In addition, you will :
- Be responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
- Conduct general labor on construction sites
- Conduct placement of conduit as directed by Foreman or Supervisor
- Be involved in map reading and directions
- Support with trench digging and closing
- Support with the movement of materials and vehicles as directed by Foreman or Supervisor
- Conduct maintenance services as directed by Foreman to include : - Cleanup, Wash Vehicles, Landscaping
- Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.
- Be involved with vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified
- Tow various trailers with flatbed trucks
- Conduct Aerial / Underground work as needed and directed and as trained
- Troubleshoot RF and Fiber line and or equipment issues
- Construct and repair underground RF and Fiber service
- Learn how to read and construct from a design schematic of map
- Learn all inventory and equipment required for these projects
- As applicable, learn and be certified on the use of equipment :
- Line truck
- Bucket truck
- Cable Reel equipment
- Saws and drills
- Climb poles with climbing equipment safely
- Move and relocate RF and Fiber service
- Be familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines
