We are seeking a Compensation Specialist to join our growing team. You will support our Renewables group, with responsibility for reviewing and maintaining compensation change requests, preparing and submitting salary surveys, analyzing internal and external craft market data, and conducting audits on job position builds and HR data. This position will also maintain the company’s job matches and build and maintain the company’s career path documents.
Location: This is an onsite position (5 days a week), and will be located in our Fargo, ND or Indianapolis, IN (NW/Eagle Creek area) office.

Responsibilities
- Review, track and process all pay change requests in accordance with company compensation philosophy
- Partner with HR Business Partners to develop and maintain job family career path documents
- Maintain and organize the company’s benchmark job matches tied to salary surveys and market data
- Support the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs
- Provide compensation insights for labor studies to support the project proposal and estimating teams both for Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and non-IRA projects
- Coordinate external compensation data collection and participation in 3rd party salary surveys
- Work with department leaders and Compensation Manager on the evaluation of jobs, creation of job families, documentation of job descriptions, and salary survey job-matching
- Conduct audits on job code build information and HR employee data
- Support the annual pay planning cycle and merit increases by auditing data throughout the course of the project and ensure merit increases are uploaded accurately and timely into UKG
- Conduct research and analyze survey results to make recommendations on market competitiveness, pay equity, salary range structure and compensation trends for craft positions
- Design, build, utilize business intelligence software, such as Power BI, for Compensation metrics and provide insights to business leaders on using the metrics to make data driven decisions
- Predict future craft compensation trends to give guidance and insights to continue to support the company’s business objectives
- Support the company incentive plan process as needed
- Analyze the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives
- Provide support and advice to department leaders on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations
- Assist in the development of techniques for compiling, analyzing, preparing and presenting compensation and benefits data

Qualifications
Qualifications
Associates or Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or other relevant area of study preferred
One to three years’ related experience
Compensation and/or construction experience preferred
HRIS system experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

- Basic knowledge of employment laws and practices
- Strong analytical and Microsoft Excel skills
