We are looking for a Human Resource Specialist to join our team in Portland, OR.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate orientation for craft and non-craft hires and process their paperwork within our systems.
- Responsible for I-9 documentation and other HR records.
- Train employees on policies and procedures.
- Request and review background checks for new hires.
- Order and maintain orientation materials.
- Ensuring compliance with customer, union, and staffing agreements.
- Assist the Human Resources team and other departments in the day-to-day operations of HR including clerical, record keeping duties, and receive and address employee questions.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with the established policies and procedures and upholds H&M safety and quality management protocols.
- Monitors compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws as well as regulations from other applicable agencies, notifies managers of potential issues and proposes corrective action.
- Develop understanding of major business components and implications specific to Human Resource matters.
Qualifications
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ensure the security of sensitive employee information.
- Knowledge of employment law, strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
- Proficient in software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge in ATS (iCIMS) and HRIS (UKG) is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or equivalent experience
Experience
2 years of progressive experience in Human resources or a business-related field.
