Job Overview:
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while performing various tasks involving physical labor.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
- Complete all required Safety documentation.
- Perform various functions such as digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel using picks or shovels.
- Lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
- Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
- Mix, pour, and place concrete, gravel, and other materials using hand tools.
- Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe.
- Perform routine tasks such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with caulking, and rebar placement.
- Participate in general cleanup, demolition, use of cutting torches, jackhammers, and placing culvert or pipe sections in trenches.
- May spend time on one job or be transferred to different tasks as the project progresses.
- Assist on-site as needed.
- Perform care and maintenance of assigned tools.
- Engage in physical labor on construction sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or one to three months of related experience in construction and/or training or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.
- Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety by working toward Wanzeks Zero Injury principles.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards.
