- Assist Quality leadership in preparation of the Process Audit Plan including establishing audit objectives, scope, and planning work on assigned audit segments
- Assist Quality leadership in determining records or activities to analyze and the working papers to prepare
- Perform routine internal audits of operational processes and systems to verify compliance to company policies and quality standards
- Identify areas of process inefficiencies, propose innovative solutions for continual improvement, and assist with implementation of solutions
- Analyze the effectiveness of existing internal controls
- Perform risk assessments and assist in the development of preventive measures to manage risks
- Recognize and communicate with auditees on what is working well in their processes
- Hold preliminary discussions of deficiencies with appropriate personnel to verify and obtain information on the cause(s) or contributing factors for each deficiency and document responses
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement
- Complete and present audit reports to management
- Assist with audit follow-up and/or verification of the effectiveness of improvements
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in quality, industrial technology, business management, construction, science or related field
- Three years process or internal auditing experience in construction or operations
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company’s Zero Injury principles
- Detail-oriented with outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to identify and reduce risks to boost compliance and improve operational performance
- Strong knowledge of audit procedures, including planning, techniques, and test and sampling methods and ability to apply them to each project assigned
- Process-oriented with the ability to focus on the process steps, procedures, cycle times and methods involved in completing tasks or achieving goals
- Excellent communication skills to discuss findings, provide feedback, and suggest improvements to stakeholders and team members
- Ability to analyze data and present findings effectively
- Ability to drive engagement and accountability for timely finding resolution
- Ability to perform work independently with little or no supervision
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to interview individuals associated with the subject of an audit across all levels of the organization
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with overall company operations and an ability to understand correlations between internal operating departments
- Ability to travel as needed
