William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company is in search for a Project Engineer within the Springfield, IL & surrounding areas. The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and Estimator with the day to day administrative functions associated with Project Management and Estimating to ensure that each estimate is prepared accurately and each project is completed on time and within the estimated budget.

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $2 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Attend the project turnover meeting (estimating to operations).
- Assist in generating/maintaining project schedules, both cash flow and work load.
- Attend job meetings
- Assist in setting up/managing submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
- Ensure the work, including the work of the subcontractors, is being done in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
- Enforce the company safety program.
- Ensure all work is completed according to specifications for the project.
- Assist in completing all project plans.
- Assist in maintaining all project related reports.
- Assist in preparing project closing documents.
- Review construction documents and compete take offs and assist in obtaining procing for materials and subcontractors, including DBE subcontractors.
- Assist in preparing CPM schedules using estimated productions.
- Attend pre-bid meetings.
- Make pre-bid site investigations.
- Assist in preparing QA/QC plans
- Maintain and submit QA/QC records in accordance with the QA/QC plans
Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the Construction industry
- Bridge Construction experience is a plus
- Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future
