POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cost Controller III is responsible for implementation, training, oversight and conducting Project Controls related practices for projects across Mastec Industrial’s operational groups.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Works with the Sr. Cost Controller on complex assignments to:
  • Establish Project Budget, Change Management and Progress Measurement Programs.
  • Lead and execute Cost Forecasting and Trend Analysis for large or small projects.
  • Lead and execute Progress and Performance Analysis and Forecasting for labor.
  • Lead and execute Cost Forecasting for all Cost Types.
  • Author and update the Cost, Progress and Change Management narratives in weekly and monthly reports.
  • Lead compliance and Project Controls oversight throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Ensure client Project Management with project reporting requirements.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical major; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7 years of Project Controls Cost Analysis or related work experience preferred.
• Professional Level Certification (AACE, PMI or other) a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
• When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
• Set a personal example of safe behavior.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Office 365, InEight and/or related Project Controls software.
• Demonstrates a command of the skills listed.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting Engineering and Contract documents.
• Understanding and knowledge of complex Earned Value and Cost Control Methods.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks/assignments.
• Exceptional team building skills and ability to collaborate with groups throughout the company.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend complex assignments.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

HOURS: This position is a standard full-time position, with general business 40-hour operating schedule, Monday-Friday.

TRAVEL: 10%
