Job Summary
The Billing Supervisor plays a key leadership role within the billing department, providing guidance, oversight, and support to Billing Associates while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all billing-related activities. This position collaborates closely with field teams, finance, and customers to manage the billing lifecycle and drive continuous improvement in billing processes.
Responsibilities
• Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Billing Associates to ensure daily billing operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Review and approve billing packages, ensuring compliance with contractual guidelines and customer requirements.
• Monitor billing cycles and job tracking to ensure timely processing and revenue recognition.
• Support and oversee collections efforts in coordination with the Accounts Receivable team.
• Train new billing staff and provide ongoing coaching and development.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Act as a liaison between the billing department, project managers, and external customers to resolve billing issues.
• Maintain comprehensive records of billing, payments, and communications.
Minimum
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of billing experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of billing and accounts receivable processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred
• Experience in utility construction or a similar industry.
• Familiarity with work order management and billing systems.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
