Responsibilities
- Act as front-line safety professional coordinating and supervising jobs at the field meeting all safety and client standards.
- Conduct safety inspections, observations, claims, investigations, and regulatory compliance for OSHA, DOT, and EPA.
- Support the field team and work with personnel across various departments.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in preliminary walk throughs of construction drawings with Project Manager and Client.
- Provide supervision and planning for successful project completion.
- Coordinate MOT (Management Of Time) tasks.
- Provide daily completion reporting using ArcGIS Collector App.
- Ensure assigned personnel receive appropriate safety training.
- Inspect workplace facilities to identify deficiencies or potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA/DOT/MasTec Utility Services requirements.
- Evaluate tools, equipment, materials, vehicles, and technical instruments to ensure they are fit-for-purpose, functional, calibrated, and equipped with protective gear to reduce employee injury risk.
- Assist local management in investigating work-related incidents to determine cause and contributing factors.
- Develop mitigation measures and corrective actions for inspection deficiencies to reduce hazard recurrence.
- Recommend safe work processes and demonstrate personal protective equipment safety features to reduce employee exposure to workplace hazards.
- Provide weekly Major Materials utilization and inventory reports.
- Maintain inventory of Major Materials until installed.
- Ensure restorations are complete as per jurisdiction requirements after construction is finished and schedule final inspections with City inspectors.
Requirements
- Three years of construction project experience.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate progress, highlight issues, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Safety training and knowledge of OSHA requirements.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or related field of study.
- Five or more years of construction project experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications.
