Job Summary

The Inventory Specialist will assist Operations and Safety with the acquisition, distribution, and maintenance of live-line tools, rubber goods, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position will also be responsible for periodic inspection and observation of vehicles and crews, as well as assisting with training per training requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Interview potential vendors and select those that best meet the needs of the organization
  • Oversee inventory and order additional products and supplies when needed / required.
  • Evaluate the selection and shipping process and work to improve efficiency.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and update inventory when applicable.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts to maximize profit.
  • Communicate with Operations and Safety to meet needs for new / different products which may be needed.
  • Maintain rubber goods and lead changeout of rubber goods to include ordering, distributing, and third-party retesting.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School diploma, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CDL Class A driver’s license.
  • Familiarity with industry and local standards for inventory testing / re-testing / and distribution.

Preferred

  • 2 or more years of Safety related experience.

 

 Physical Demands and Work Environment 

 

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.   

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
